Plasbumin®-20 contains a four-fold greater concentration, and Plasbumin®-25 a five-fold greater concentration of colloidal proteins than Plasbumin®-5 and Plasmanate®, and are capable of pulling more fluid back into the circulatory system from the spaces surrounding tissue cells. Plasbumin®-20, Plasbumin®-25, Plasbumin®-5, and Plasmanate®
all contain approximately 145 mEq/L of sodium.
Plasbumin®-25 and Plasbumin®-20 are also used in the treatment of shock, injuries in which shock may occur, and for hypoproteinemia. Plasbumin®-25 contains 25% albumin in solution and Plasbumin®-20 contains 20% albumin in solution. Both are pasteurized, stabilized, and buffered in a similar manner to the 5% solution.
